The Conference was organised as a series of round tables for dialogue bringing together parliamentarians, ailment governments and civil society representatives from Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
The objective of this International Conference was to advance the debate among governments, regional/international bodies, policy makers, parliamentarians and social movements from the four regions about the possibilities to respond to these crises through regional alternatives and a model of regional integration that promotes a change in the development model of the regions.

Demba Moussa Dembele (African Forum on Alternatives, ailment illness Senegal) gives his perspective on regional integration in the context of the current crises and discusses some key issues involved in creating a new form of regional integration. He argues that regional integration is the only viable response to the crises and outlines the need for food sovereignty, cure regional institutions, a common defence system and new forms of political institutions.
